As the UAE transitions to an economy based on production, distribution and use of knowledge and information as part of its Vision 2021 National Agenda, developing human capital will become an increasingly critical element in achieving this goal.

Outcomes from PwC Middle East Chief Human Resources Officer Survey - Strategy, talent and leadership: the way forward in the ‘new normal’ highlighted the need for HR functions to be more strategic, more effective and more closely aligned with organisations’ corporate goals.

This means that HR practitioners will be best equipped by adopting a blended approach to competency development, part of which will be achieved through formal training and qualifications.

Amanda Line, Partner, PwC’s Academy said: “The CHRO survey highlights the importance of tailoring the HR practices to what businesses need to help achieve their objectives. This requires a shift from a transactional role to a strategic role of ‘business partnering’. Investing in developing talented HR Professionals, able to pursue a career in HR is an area that must not be neglected.

“The clear demand in the region for internationally recognised HR qualifications has led to PwC’s Academy’s partnership with CIPD. We will now deliver the best and most relevant knowledge, skills and training in the field of HR. We are delighted to be appointed to deliver the CIPD’s qualifications and to play a role in developing the HR profession in the Middle East.”

Matthew Mee, Managing Director, CIPD Middle East said: “PwC’s Academy has a reputation for offering business qualifications of the highest standard, making the Academy an excellent partner for CIPD. This is a critical time for the Middle East to raise standards in all business disciplines, and HR plays a pivotal role in helping to shape organisations. We are confident that through our partnership with PwC’s Academy, CIPD will continue its contribution to the HR community in the region.”

PwC’s Academy Middle East will deliver both foundational Level 3 and intermediate Level 5 CIPD qualifications in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. In addition, the Academy offers these qualifications customised as in-house training for organisations across the Middle East.
